Image Errors

CEIPP errors

The following errors were introduced by CEIPP during the production of the gifs used for the rongorongo.org website. These errors were apparently created by accidently duplicating the glyphs while editing the long line images from Barthel into shorter lines for use on the website.

These errors are really only of concern when directly using, referencing, or copying the gifs from the defunct CEIPP site. But note that, for instance, the images on wikipedia (presumably created by joining the rongorongo.org images) reproduce these errors

Barthel errors

The following errors are original to Barthel's tracings. In all of these cases Barthel's numbering notes the presence of a glyph that is not apparent in his tracings. Comparison with Fischer's drawings shows that Barthel's tracings—and the images by CEIPP derived from them—are indeed in error.
